Im South African I have heard of Orania but i didn't know its only for whites. Great one can learn a lot from these insights from a person who for very good had to leave her country where by now up to a million people had been killed in a two year civil war, in spite of Ethiopia being a democracy... that few people even in Africa seem to know about. Yet the most devastating experience for you had been to visit Orania where the residents (whites) run an efficient own municipality, have no need of a police force or even civil service, not a cent of government taxes, run their own water filtration system, own solar power plant, do all their building, maintenance, training, roads, medical services, security and education by themselves... But J didnt enjoy this one, mainly because it is full of inaccuracies. 1) We were very much aware of the civil war in Ethiopia because it was widely covered by the media here. The people who claimed not to have heard of it must have been living under rocks when that war was taking place. 2) It is not true that the man you showed in that clip was a "South African mercenary." That man is a well known community leader here, based in Sowet, Johannesburg. In the clip you showered, which, by the way, also appeated on our local television station, he explains that he went to show support for fellow ethiopian fellow Ethiopians in their fight against Imperialism. The civil war was portrayed by the media here as having stoked by the West, especially the USA. The Tigrayans were portrayed as American puppets that were trying to effect regime change in Ethiopia. That is certainly how it seemed to me too. South African law prohibits citizens from fighting for other countries or militias. That young man didnt go to ethiopia to join the ethiopian army. Farms are private property in South Africa. As such, they are able to decide who can and cannot live there. Orania is NOT a town in the legal sense of a local authority. If it was, it would not be able to exclude other races from living there. It is a private property that does not receive any services from government. Their so-called "own mkney & own passport" are just toys that do not work anywhere outside Orania. They decided to follow their own rule instead of the central government's rule. The central govt sent multiple entities to resolve the disagreement , but they insisted to go to war. Unfortunately, the war happened, and the sad part is the central government has envited other non Ethiopian forces for support against its own people. Its a very very....sad event.
